He served as Mission President in the Northern Indian Mission in Rapid City, South Dakota and was general manager of the Deseret Ranches in Florida for 10 years.
He also served as president of the Florida Cattlemen's Association. He held many positions in the LDS church, including bishop, stake president, patriarch, mission president and regional representative.
He was the commander of the Elko county Sheriff's Posse for many years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, sons and daughters-in-law Demar and Lora, Joe and Jeannette, Drew and Pam, and Mark and Coralee, daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Gordon Wines, Olivia and Brad Anderson, and Jennifer and Ray Smith, 38 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and sister Beth Daynish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Art, and Jim, sister, Mary, and a granddaughter. Services will be held at the Wells Ward LDS Church Monday, August 12 at a. PST Interment will be in the Starr Valley Cemetery.
